Top 5 Reasons People Hate Wearing Eyeglasses

Stylish woman in glasses

Almost all people who wear glasses have their own story of hatred for their spectacles. It could be due to limited movement, functionality, convenience or appearance. Whatever your reasoning, at Omni Eye we think they’re all valid.

Let’s take a minute to go over the complaints we hear most often here at Omni Eye Specialists.

Makeup Mess

Putting on makeup requires clear, crisp vision right? Or else you risk an uneven brow and messy lipstick application. For those who wear glasses and love makeup, which do you put on first? Your glasses or your makeup? See, you cannot easily apply makeup, especially eye makeup, with your glasses sitting on top of your nose. Of course, you would not be able to apply makeup flawlessly without your eyeglasses. It’s a dilemma we’re sure many of you have had to face.

Fogged Up Glasses

This is a well known problem with glasses. Glasses can fog up at the drop of a hat. Is it raining outside? Cold outside? Humid? Expect to be wiping your glasses often to see.

Nose Bridge Slip-offs

Well-fitted glasses generally do not do this. However for some people, it seems like no matter how well-fitted the glasses are, they still find themselves pushing their glasses up every few minutes. And forget doing any activities that require you to bend over, or just simply look downwards. This isn’t a deal breaker for most people, but it’s certainly an annoying occurrence.

Limited Activity

Playing sports with glasses is hard. Running with glasses is hard. Doing yoga with glasses is hard. Swimming with glasses is hard. Relying on glasses essentially limits you to either sitting on the sidelines, or dealing with blurry vision at times where it may not be safe to. If you’re an active person, glasses hold you back.

Constantly Changing Prescriptions

Those who wear glasses tend to know their eye doctors very well (which is not a bad thing!) However, if you are one of those people who hates to see an eye doctor more than once every two or three years, needing more frequent eye exams is a huge hassle. Buying new glasses and changing your prescription can also rack up a lot of money.

As many of us know by now, LASIK surgery is the permanent solution to these common annoyances. If you are sick and tired of dealing with your glasses, and you don’t want to deal with contact lenses either, see if LASIK is for you. Contact Omni Eye Specialists today for your LASIK evaluation, and get one step closer to saying goodbye to glasses for good!
